Summer is here. A strange Summer for sure. With Covid cases still on the rise in California, there are even more reasons to make your home garden a Beautiful, and productive place to spend time.
We have been busy, getting my home veggies going, and building raised beds and planting vegetable gardens, all across the Bay Area.
August is the time to get your fall and winter garden started. Carrot, Beets, Broccoli, Kale, collards and radish are some great options to plant now. They grow big and robust, with the late summer heat, and get sweet and tender, as the weather cools, and rains begin.
Growing veggies at home gives you easy access to in season produce. It's an opportunity to nurture the earth, and helps reduce trips to the grocery store.
For me, knowing that my food was grown in healthy organic soil, and that only 2 or 3 people are in contact with the plants, eases my worries about what I eat.
